Corruption risk assessment and mitigation plans in the health sector

Introduction

What does an integrated approach to corruption risk management entail?

An integrated approach entails taking corruption vulnerabilities and risks into account at all stages of a project and program, from formulation to implementation, and implementing anti-corruption interventions. Corruption risk management means mainstreaming anti-corruption measures in all sectors and processes in a coherent, coordinated, comprehensive and risk-based manner. An increasing body of evidence suggests that standalone anti-corruption projects are not likely to be sufficient in controlling corruption (Johnsøn, Taxell and Zaum 2012).
