The following activities were carried out:  

  • Elaboration of a baseline analysis for the beneficiary aqueduct associations. 
  • Design of a Program for Transparency and Accountability for ASADAs that could be replicated at the national level.
  • Elaboration of a Manual for Water Integrity for Costa Rican ASADAs
  • Six (6) regional workshops to get inputs from young people and women on how best to improve the transparency and accountability of ASADAs. These inputs were incorporated into the draft manual. 
  • A video about water integrity, transparency and accountability was produced in partnership with the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) and can be found here.  
  • Development of an online tool for ASADAs to report management and financial information into a central information repository to support the transparency and accountability of ASADAs at the national level.
  • The project was presented at the Community Water Management Fair in Granada, Nicaragua, in 2013 as well as at World Water Week in Stockholm in 2013 and 2014.
