The role of regulators in the water sector
The following example from the State of Veracruz, Mexico, illustrates the importance of public actors, specifically regulatory bodies and oversight institutions, in reducing corruption risks and improving service delivery in the W&S sector. Failure to adequately perform a role can adversely impact the quality of water and sanitation services.
