Alternative approach: Integrity Management Toolbox with water service provider focus
The International Centre for Water Management Services and the Water Integrity Network (CEWAS) developed this comprehensive, but more focused, illustrative and business-orientated, risk management approach. Instead of a moralizing approach, the Integrity Management Toolbox focuses on how the management of water service providers (WSPs) and their Board of Directors can benefit from a business point of view, by systematically implementing integrity management tools. The main goal of the integrity management approach is to optimize WSP business models and eventually their performance by merging integrity considerations into management. According to this approach, implementing auditing processes improves compliance with operating procedures and thus minimizes fraud, which eventually results in increased revenues.
