INCREASING ACCOUNTABILITY (Survey)
Crowd sourcing platforms are also useful tools for the public to demand greater accountability from the government. Aggregated data from reports filed by the public over time (decentralized mapping) can put greater pressure on the government and on corrupt public officials. Eventually, such a platform can have a preventive effect. Information can be used to press institutions to take action, or to establish strong feedback linkages between institutions and crowd-sourcing websites.
