Assessment of project progress

Comparison of actual results with expected results

Talking about transparency, accountability and anticorruption in water is difficult in some areas, as it is often considered a taboo subject by the population and public officials. Therefore, presenting the topic in the context of cost-benefit is a useful way to engage the public. In Chapeltique Village, for example, some people used to access water without paying for the service. Throughout the implementation of the project, the community was peacefully sensitized about why the Water Administration Body needed to receive payment from each consumer in order to assure better public service and access to water for all. The families are now paying in a timely manner, because they feel water is being transparently managed.
