Bribery in India – crowd-sourcing response
I Paid A Bribe (ipaidabribe.com) is an initiative to tackle corruption by harnessing the collective energy of citizens. Using the website, citizens can report on the nature, number, pattern, types, location, frequency and values of actual corrupt acts. The reports provide a snapshot of bribes occurring across Indian cities, and the platform’s managers use the data to argue for improved governance systems and procedures and tightened law enforcement and regulation.
